Turkey in Onion/Mushroom Cream Sauce
Turkey In Onion/Mushroom Cream Sauce
3 cups leftover turkey, diced
1 large onion, chopped
1 8 ounce pack of mushrooms, sliced
2 cups cream or cream fraiche
1 tablespoon of Meat seasoning or to taste
2 tablespoons butter or cooking spray
In a large skillet, saute the onions and mushrooms in the butter or
cooking spray on medium heat. When the onions and mushrooms are tender add
the turkey, meat seasoning, and cream. Cook on high until the cream
thickens, adjust the seasoning, remove from the heat, and serve. This dish
may be served over toast, biscuits, rice, grits, herbed potatoes or pasta.
Note: THIS IS THE BEST THING TO DO WITH LEFTOVER TURKEY. This is one of
our favorite recipes.
A fruit salad is a good accompaniment to this dish.
Meat Seasoning
½ cup salt
3/8 cup garlic powder
3/8 cup black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper
2 tablespoons paprika
Place all ingredients in a pint jar, cover and shake to mix well. This is
an excellent seasoning for any red meat and some
poultry dishes.
Note: I keep a jar of this on my spice shelf at all times.
