Theresa Schmidt--Broccoli Salad

Broccoli Salad


4 cups raw broccoli chopped
1 cup red grapes
1 cup green grapes
8 slices chopped bacon, fried until crispy
½ cup chopped green onion
1 cup of celery sliced
1/8 inch thick
¾ cup sliced almonds


Combine ingredients with 1 cup of mayo, 1/3 cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons of vinegar. Prepare at least an hour before serving so the sugar has plenty of time to dissolve. This an attractive and tasty salad I enjoy bringing to parties. It always gets rave reviews. (It's from my sister Diane Hagerty in St. Louis , Mo. )
